Hocking Hills feels hidden, tucked away.
Unlike most state parks with large signs hailing the entrance and easy-to-find landmarks, you’ve got to work to find the ring of sites that make up the Ohio’s Hocking Hills State Park.
You could easily drive right past Hocking Hills on U.S. 33 going southeast between Columbus, Ohio, and West Virginia’s state border without thinking there’s much to see. The rolling hills reveal little of what’s waiting inside.

Hiking is a great outdoor adventure – you can explore nature to your heart’s content, travel to new places, and challenge your body and mind. But it isn’t easy – you need to be prepared in a variety of ways, as well as be aware of your environment at all times. There can be too many accidents.

Emerging out of the fumes and flesh of a city like Delhi can be refreshing no matter which direction one heads. But it is particularly nice when one takes a bus 9 hours to the north, to Dharamsala.

Culture and heritage runs in the veins of Tibet, and the cities are an amazing reflection of that. Encompassing extraordinary geographical structures, beautiful rituals, and a unique lifestyle, Tibetan cities are graceful. Some ancient cities are present in the region and they tell stories of a glorious past. The cities hold great value, and they always give something unique to the visitors. Once you tour to Tibet closely, the cities hold an enchanting appeal.
Turkmenistan is a desert country with a population the size of Minnesota (just over five million). It doesn’t invade its neighbors (though it has a dismal record of oppressing its own citizens), and its leadership doesn’t engage in regular rhetorical lashings of the United States.

Traveling is the ultimate learning opportunity, and the learning aspect is one of the most pleasurable parts of the journey. A vacation to a new locale will teach you all kinds of things about local culture, customs, and geography; and you’ll retain it much longer than should you memorize it from some book. When you can put your hands on something, it makes a more indelible impression.
